One of the advantages of working for a member company within our Group is the access this gives to a range of service and benefits which can be made available on a collaborative basis. As we grow and develop we are aiming to expand the benefit packages we can offer.
Child Care Vouchers and family support
All staff within the Aster Group who meet the terms of the Scheme are eligible to participate in a salary sacrifice, Child Care Voucher Scheme provided by Sodexho or Accor. There are posters on display around the offices and details about how to apply for the vouchers will be provided upon appointment. Many posts allow flexible working so that staff can balance family and career priorities
Sporting Activities
For the energetic ones amongst us there are numerous regular and ad hoc sporting events; winter football, summer cricket and all-year round golf prove to be very popular. ‘All Female’ teams regularly participate in the Race for Life events run all across the region. Staff working out of Sarsen Court in Devizes can also join the on-site gym or weekly fitness classes. At Testway House yoga and pilates programmes are provided from time to time.
On-site facilities
Staff have free unlimited tea, coffee and soft drinks, and chilled water. Several sites have facilities to have hot meals in comfortable relaxation areas to get a break from workstations. Several bases have showers and changing facilities. Many of the offices have air conditioning.
Social Events
All the main sites provide a range of social events. At Sarsen Court, there is a popular formal Ball, whilst at Testway House BBQs, Go Kart Racing, theatre trips and Christmas Parties are regular features. From time-to-time, we have been able to offer subsidised events to support our philosophy that having a good social culture is conducive to having a good work environment. Quiz nights have proved to be very popular and tap into strong, good-natured competitive instincts amongst the most mild or teams!
Collaborative Training
With a core business objective of ‘Developing Our People’ the Aster Group is passionate about providing opportunities for personal and professional development. All the Aster companies are accredited as Investors in People. We invest heavily in traditional vocational training for teams and individuals. Regular conferences are held for all staff employed by the group and smaller events for specialist teams which have proved to be extremely valuable in building team spirit and exchanging ‘best practice’
Staff Counselling and support
We recognise that life in our current times can be challenging and stressful; professionally and personally and all the companies within the group provide, free of charge and on a self referral basis, access to confidential counselling services. In addition we recognise a number of trade unions and we work with these representatives to address issues in the workplace which might be having an adverse impact.
Vehicle
You will be reimbursed for any mileage you undertake on behalf of the Group, using your own vehicle, based on the Inland Revenue’s Authorised Mileage Rates. This will be a maximum of 40p per mile, depending on the number of business miles travelled within the tax year.
If the vacancy you are applying for attracts a 10% car allowance, this will be clearly stated in the vacancy advert. If you would like to take up this benefit, then any business mileage you undertake will be reimbursed at a rate of 11p per mile.
